Labyrinth at Southern Lights Centre, Akaroa

Christ College labyrinth Akaroa

The labyrinth at the Southern Lights Centre is a pebbled path with a reverse seven-circuit classical design. Built by supporters and friends it enhances the meditative work of students of this school of meditation and overlooks the beautiful Akaroa Harbour and surrounding mountains.

Akaroa Christ College 9 019

Southern Lights Centre is set on a large pastoral property that is being restored to natural bushland with walking tracks, high on the rim of the crater of an extinct volcano which forms the Akaroa Harbour.

Central to our work is the award-winning Temple with its beautiful harbour views and acoustics, perfect for weddings and other sacred ceremonies and workshops, in conjunction with the spacious teaching building which has catering facilities and marae - style accommodation.

Southern Lights Centre Akaroa

The Southern Lights Centre is open 365 per year, the temple is always open for as long as you need.

Once a month we hold meditation retreats on the weekend.

The Southern Lights Centre encompasses the Ageless wisdom teachings which at their core are a quest for understanding the purpose of the soul.

Weddings and Celebrations

The temple is a unique space designed to marry heaven and earth, spirit and matter, the masculine and the feminine. It is a space that stands free from any religion or philosophy and offers any person(s) from any background a place where they can connect with their essential nature, connect with each other and find true meaning in their lives.
