Margaret Gwynn, the guardian of the labyrinth writes:
"I'm the guardian of the Green Dragon labyrinth in Trelinnoe Park, off the Napier/Taupo highway near Te Pohue. Trelinnoe Park is a large private garden open to the public all year round for an entry fee of $10.
The labyrinth is a classical 7 circuit design. The path is in limesand, edged with green dragon grass. Hence the name Green Dragon labyrinth. A group of women created it in 2001-2.
I hold two rituals there in addition to people walking it whenever they wish. We celebrate Winter Solstice, walking the labyrinth in darkness and creating light with candles in the centre. We walk the labyrinth on New Year's Eve as a way of marking our journey from old year to new."
Availability: Open all year round. $10 admission to Trellinoe Park.
