Tony Bridge

Tony is a teacher, writer, digital artist and kaiako (teacher/guide/mentor).

Born in New Zealand, he is of English, Dutch and Māori descent. Raised in the Christian tradition, he has trained as a teacher and professional photographer. He holds a degree in foreign languages and literature.

He has spent the last few years studying Io Matua Kore, the ancient Māori spiritual traditions with a tohunga (traditional healer) from the Tuhoe people of the Te Urewera region of the Central North Island.

Ever a Seeker, he has explored and continues to explore a range of different spiritual traditions and share his insights through his art, writing, mentoring and teaching.

He currently lives in Rawene, in Northland.

There is but One God, he says, but that God wears many faces. Like the pungawerewere (spider), I am drawn to explore all the threads which bind us, and to help people discover the radiant Divine within themselves.

It is not enough to keep the Gift to myself.

Photography is a sacred space, a campfire if you like, which provides a wonderful tool which each of us can employ to find out about ourselves and explore our own journeys. If we persevere we will ultimately come to understand ourselves and the wonder of our own Life Journeys.

In the words of the great Austrian poet, Rainer Maria Rilke:
  The greatest journey
  Is the journey within.
